About Me

I first used a camera when my father asked me to take a picture of the family in front of Niagara Falls, on a family vacation. I was around 9 years old and instantly fell in love with making images.

My first SLR was a "Zenit", a Russian-made, mail order camera bought in my mid-teens. I soon upgraded to a Minolta, purchased from a gentleman whose "new wife told him he had to give it up". My first Nikon (Nikon FE) was purchased in my late-teens and by this time I had developed a full-blown love for photography.

In the mid-'80s, my father, a friend and I founded the Fundy Camera Club in Saint John, NB. This presented new opportunities. I had the chance to lead photography workshops for beginners, but also learned from more experienced members.

Soon, "life" took over and I set aside photography for many years. My beloved Nikon FE was stolen (along with my car!), and with a young family to raise, replacing it was not a priority.

Then came the digital age. My love for photography has been rejuvenated. I am happy to now own a Nikon DSLR, and "making images" is exciting all over again.
